PADI Instructor Development Course
The PADI Instructor Development Course is a program designed to prepare PADI Divemasters or equivalent to become PADI Instructors. The PADI Instructor Development Course rating authorizes a student to function as an instructional assistant and independently conduct certain PADI programs. Successful completion of the PADI Instructor Development Course qualifies you to participate in the Open Water Scuba Instructor course.
The program runs 32 hours over 3 days. To graduate a Student must attend all sessions, complete 2 Academic teaching presentations, 2 confined water teaching presentations and 1 Open Water presentation combining two demonstrated PADI scuba skills. Upon Successful completion of the PADI Instructor Development Course, the Course Director will sign off on the Students application so that the credentials will be issued by PADI.Course numbers in the AI program start with the prefix AI and are numbered sequentially.

PADI Instructor Development Requirements
PADI DiveMasters who are at least 18 years old may enroll in the PADI Assistant Instructor course. You also need to have:
Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within the past 24 months.
A medical statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months.
At least 60 logged dives to begin the course.
